The Dubbo Cycle Club may lay claim to being one of the oldest cycling clubs in New South Wales, with a rich heritage of both road and track racing that dates back to 1884 in one incarnation or another. While the club was not a part of the formation of the NSW Cycle Union in 1883, it was a member of the Union for its first full year of operation in 1884. Being situated over 400 kilometers east of Sydney and more than 300 kilometers from its regional counterparts in Tamworth and Wagga, the isolation of Dubbo played a major factor in contributing to the strength of the club throughout the early years...
